When it's tempting to retaliate or to resent someone, recall that the sun rose on them too this morning.
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father Who is in heaven. For He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust." -Matthew 5:43-45 ESV
You are both breathing air that God was gracious enough to give. You didn't merit your waking moment any more than this other sinner. Just as you know and follow right from wrong only because the Lord shone His light unto you, so too do they need to see the light of the Image of God, that is Christ (2 Corinthians 4:4).
Let constant awareness of the love and grace of God in Christ toward you & all men guard you from the path of a fleshly response to a fellow man. Let passion for Christ, Whom you've come to love, be stronger than any human passions not led by the Spirit of Christ (1 Peter 1:15-16). The Lord is with you, to strengthen you, and uphold you when you fall.
